For example, if your fiction manuscript is 25,000 words, it fits perfectly within the Basic tier (up to 20,000 words wouldn't cover it, so you would choose the Standard tier which covers up to 40,000 words). My services are strictly focused on digital ebook formatting (text-only EPUB files). I do not offer print layout formatting for paperbacks or hardcovers. This allows me to specialize deeply in creating flawless, beautiful reading experiences specifically optimized for digital e-readers like Kindle, Kobo, and Apple Books.
Yes! Before I begin formatting, I will provide you with a PDF sample guide featuring three distinct layout styles (Finch, Clairmont, and Intratech). You will be able to select the design that best matches the voice and genre of your book before the digital formatting process starts.
Please submit your manuscript as a clean Microsoft Word document (.docx). This is the standard format required for proofreading edits and importing into formatting software. Once the project is complete, you will receive a fully polished, retail-ready EPUB file for your ebook formatting, or a tracked-changes Word document if you ordered proofreading only.
Proofreading is the final polish before publication. It focuses strictly on correcting errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation, and typos. It does not include deep structural editing, rewriting, or altering your unique author voice. Upon completion, you will receive a secure, view-only preview link to verify the work. Once the final invoice is paid, you will receive your editable manuscript with all corrections clearly visible using Word's Track Changes feature.
No, proofreading can only take place once your manuscript has been fully edited and is in its final draft. Proofreading is the absolute last step in the publishing process—it focuses entirely on catching missed typos, spelling errors, and punctuation slips. It does not include structural editing, story development, or rewriting
Any extra revisions must be requested and agreed upon upfront during the quoting process (for example, securing up to 3 rounds). You will only ever be charged for the revisions you actually use. Please note that no further revisions can be made after the final project is completed and delivered. To comply with strict privacy requirements and manage storage limits, all client manuscript files are permanently deleted from my system upon successful delivery.
Yes, I am fully proficient in formatting and proofreading all three variations! I adapt perfectly to American, British, or South African spelling and punctuation standards.
